We are Kacey and Leslie, two moms living in Calgary, Canada, sharing a common passion for spending quality time outdoors with our children. With a total of four kids between us, we have embraced the wonders of nature and all of the adventures it offers. From hiking and camping to simply playing in city parks, we are discovering the incredible benefits that come with immersing ourselves and our little ones in the great outdoors.
Our journey began when we realized how much our children thrived when given the opportunity to explore nature firsthand. Witnessing their curiosity, joy, and growth inspired us to prioritize time spent outdoors as a family. As we embarked on various adventures with our kids, we gained invaluable experience and learned lots of tips and tricks along the way.
The benefits of outdoor play are abundant, ranging from physical fitness and enhanced sensory experiences to fostering creativity, imagination, and emotional well-being. We have seen how time spent in nature nurtures resilience, independence, and a growing appreciation for the world around us.
As our enthusiasm grew, many friends expressed an interest in incorporating more outdoor activities into their every day life, but felt overwhelmed by the how's and what if's. Motivated by a desire to help like-minded families and create a supportive community, we decided to establish this platform.
At AdventureKids, our aim is to provide a space where families can come together, exchange ideas, and find inspiration for embracing the outdoors. Whether you're a seasoned outdoor enthusiast or just starting to explore nature with your little ones, we aim to offer helpful resources, tips, and personal anecdotes. From family-friendly hiking trails and camping guides to outdoor play ideas and safety recommendations, we hope to guide and support you as you venture outdoors.

Hi! I’m Kacey! My little crew consists of Josh, myself and our kiddos, Dax (6) and Goldie (5). I grew up on a farm in Southern Alberta and that created a lot of opportunities for me to spend time outside doing chores, playing, and exploring. Our family used to spend the majority of the summer camping with our horses in tow. Going on trail rides, sitting around the campfire, and getting dirty in the woods are some of my core memories. I want my kids to have a childhood full of play, nature and fun. While they are little, I am trying my hardest to foster a love for being outdoors and being together as a family. Though it’s not always easy, I love spending time going for hikes, having picnics, and hiking with my kids. I’m so excited to share some of our adventures with you!
Hi, I'm Leslie! My husband Connor and I have two amazing little boys, Walter (age 5) and Harrison (age 2). I spent my childhood adventuring with my brother & parents in Ol' Blue, the family truck and camper. My dad is a freewheeling flyfisher and his hobby was the family hobby. Every summer my parents would pick us up on the last day of school and we would run around Western Canada and the US chasing trout. I grew up around bonfires, playing pretend campground, watching wildlife and picking wildflowers (I know you are not supposed to do that, this was the 90's). I find solitude in nature and hope to give my kids the ability to experience that as well. If I am not chasing my kids around the forest, my husband and I run the outdoor apparel company, Camp Brand Goods.
