Road Trip Games

Road Trip Games

Summer is finally here - the season of bike rides, lake swims, going for ice cream instead of going to bed...and spending hours and hours in the car! Here are some car game ideas to help kill time on the drive.

1. License Plate Game

Try to spot license plates from different states, provinces or countries. Keep a tally of how many different plates you find during your trip.

2. The Rhyming Game

Start with a word and take turns saying rhyming words. The game continues until someone can't think of a rhyming word within a few seconds.

3. Category Game

Choose a category (ex. animals, food, movies) and take turns naming things that fit into that category. If you can't think of an answer, you're out!

4. Name That Tune

Play a few seconds of a song or sing a line, and challenge others to guess the song title and/or artist.

5. The Alphabet Game

Starting with the letter A, each person takes turns finding words or objects that begin with the next letter of the alphabet.

6. 20 Questions

One person thinks of a person, place, or thing, and the others have 20 questions to guess what it is by asking only "yes" or "no" questions.

7. The Geography Game

Take turns naming cities, provinces, countries, or landmarks, each starting with the last letter of the previous entry.

For example: Alberta -> Abbotsford -> Drumheller

8. Car Colours Game

Choose a specific car colour and count how many cars of that colour you spot during the journey. The person who spots the most cars of the chosen colour wins.

9. Would You Rather

Take turns asking each other "would you rather..." questions with two challenging or silly options. Discuss and explain your choices.
